Metahaven - "Elektra"
“Every person exists both as an ancestor and a descendant.”
With Elektra, Metahaven creates a parable for the domes of planetariums, into which the film is projected.
The hemispherical dome enables a different way of seeing, as the eye encounters tableaus that it
can wander across and immerse itself in.
Metahaven’s first work for the planetarium marks the beginning of a new creative cycle, continuing
the themes explored in their previous films Information Skies and Hometown. Elektra is a visual
essay on knots and networks, blending animation and live-action to reflect on childhood and
the embodiment of the past in the present.
Featuring an original score composed by Kara-Lis Coverdale.
