„From Space to Environment. Seeing and Hearing in the Planetarium“

Prof. Dr. Hans-Christian von Herrmann „Vom Raum zur Umwelt. Sehen und Hören im Planetarium“.
Hans-Christian von Herrmann is the Head of the Department of Literary Studies with a Focus on Literature and Science at TU Berlin.
His research and teaching focus on the transformation of literary culture in the age of cybernetization and digitization. This involves both the study of literature and other arts from the mid-20th century to the present and the development of historical and theoretical perspectives that examine the relationship between art, technology, and the sciences across different epochs and cultures.
Key areas of his work include the debate on the ‘two cultures’ since the 18th century and its critique,
the relationship between art and automation since the early 20th century and the planetary effects of modern technology.
In 2018, he co-edited (with Boris Goesl and Kohei Suzuki) the volume “Zum Planetarium. Wissensgeschichtliche Studien”,
published by Wilhelm Fink Verlag.
