HYMNEN AN DIE NACHT

Viele Künstler der deutschen Romantik hatten einen starken Naturbezug, der insbesondere in
einer intensiven künstlerischen Auseinandersetzung mit dem gestirnten Himmel Ausdruck fand.
Für die Planetariumsproduktion „Hymnen an die Nacht“ hat der Autor und Filmemacher Rüdiger
Sünner lyrische und musikalische Werke sowie Gemälde aus der Zeit der deutschen Romantik
zu einer meditativen Reise durch die Nacht zusammengefügt.

In einzigartiger Weise von Hans-Peter Bögel vorgetragene Gedichte wechseln sich dabei ab mit
Werken von Schumann, Brahms und Mendelssohn Bartholdy. Diese wurden speziell für die Produktion
vom Pianisten Danang Dirhamsyah eingespielt.

Künstlerisch für die Kuppel des Planetariums inszeniert wird das Gesamtwerk von Tobias Wiethoff.

„Hymnen an die Nacht – LIVE“, mit live von Danang Dirhamsyah vorgetragenen Musikstücken ist ein
Auszug aus dem gleichnamigen Planetariumsprogramm, das im Frühjahr 2026 in Bochum Premiere
haben wird.

Many artists of the German Romantic period had a strong connection to nature, which was
expressed particularly in an intense artistic exploration of the starry sky. For the planetarium
production “Hymns to the Night,” author and filmmaker Rüdiger Sünner has combined lyrical and
musical works as well as paintings from the German Romantic period into a meditative journey
through the night. Poems recited in a unique way by Hans-Peter Bögel alternate with works by
Schumann, Brahms, and Mendelssohn Bartholdy. These were recorded especially for the production
by pianist Danang Dirhamsyah. Tobias Wiethoff will artistically stage the complete works for the
planetarium dome. “Hymns to the Night – LIVE,” featuring live musical pieces performed by Danang
Dirhamsyah, is an excerpt from the planetarium program of the same name, which will premiere
in Bochum in spring 2026.
